Plant Galls - Glossary

Pupiparity

Pupiparity is a specialized form of reproduction in insects, more specifically a particular form of viviparity. The female does not lay eggs; instead, the larva develops inside the mother and is nourished there by specialized glands. It is only born once it has fully developed and is ready to pupate. Immediately after birth, the larva pupates on the ground.
